Suddenly Frugal

Besides being the media’s go-to woman on freebies and frugality, Leah Ingram writes a popular blog where she helps her fans instantly trim the fat from their budgets without sacrificing quality of life. With this guide to living happier for less, Ingram expands upon suddenlyfrugal.com, sharing the small changes that add up to big savings when it comes to things like home and garden improvement, everyday expenses, shopping, meal planning, even entertainment. Actual dollars-and-cents savings and ample ideas for bringing the family closer together and providing a firmer financial foundation for the future are included in every chapter, from “Using Appliances That Don’t Suck…Energy, That Is” to “Vacations and Getaways.”

Lots of Great Info for Today

I found myself using my highlighter in every chapter. There was something useful that often. This book is very light weight and easy to carry around for references, and there are tons of email reference sites, love it all.

Be Frugal By Not Purchasing This Book
April 07, 2010

It depends how internet savvy you are, but I have found every single tip in this book previously via blogs and email lists online. I think it's a good motivator and refresher? but nothing new here. You'd be better served checking out Tightwad Gazzette or other money-saving websites like Cheapskate Monthly, Debt-Proof Living, etc. Bottom line: this has tricks to saving money, but won't change your ATTITUDE about how you spend, which in the end is much more important.

Don't waste you money, anyone who spends what she does on groceries, certainly is not frugal. Very disgusted.

Very good

I believe that many of the money saving ideas in this book are excellent & fairly easy to do. The author uses everyday living examples to demonstrate where her ideas came from and how they worked out - or didn't.

Ms. Ingram has written a blog for a long time and this book is very good at giving more detail. I love her ideas and hope to get there!
