The Christmas List

A wealthy real estate developer, James Kier, is the first to admit that his personal life has not been quite as successful. In the midst of divorcing his ailing wife, he’s also become estranged from his only child, Jimmy. What’s more, he’s wronged quite a few people, none of whom seem to care when they think, mistakenly, James has been killed in a car accident. Shaken by what he hears, James decides to right some wrongs, focusing on five people who have suffered egregiously on his account. Maybe he can make restitutions. But what happens is something entirely unexpected.

Richard Paul Evans brings hope and joy to the holiday season with The Christmas List, a thoughtful and heartwarming story of redemption you won’t soon forget.

Another Richard Paul Evans warm holiday tale
January 19, 2010

Modern day combo It's a Wonderful Life/Scrooge holiday theme story with a claw to the top real estate businessman, Jame Kier, (more Mr. Potter than George Bailey) who is separated from his now terminally ill spouse and estranged from their son. As the holiday season approaches he is living with his straight from central casting golddigger girlfriend whom he is scheduled to meet at a ski lodge resort area for a getaway weekend. Instead, as weather conditions make the road impassable a "James Kier" is reported to have sustained fatal injuries in a car accident. Scrooge Kier, who's very much alive and well, goes to the wake for the accident victim Jame Kier (who had George Bailey traits) and then and there decides to pick five people in his life to make amends to before Christmas. He needs to find these individuals and make things right before it's too late. A nice warm holiday tale, in what has become an annual treat from Richard Paul Evans. Add this to your collection, you won't be disappointed.

A Wonderful Read!
November 01, 2009

Highly recommended book! I have read all of his previous books; this story is right up there with the best. I think what touched me most personally was that I could see myself much like the protagonist. I could not put the book down until I read it cover to cover. I know you will not be disappointed.
