In Beverly Lewis’ The Secret, hidden motives abound in the seemingly ordinary Amish home of Grace Byler. Why does her mother, Lettie, weep in the night—does it have anything to do with the death of her sister several years ago?
In one startling moment, everything Grace assumed she knew is shattered. Her mother disappears, leaving Grace emotionally devastated. Left to pick up the pieces of her life, Grace questions all she has been taught about love, family and commitment.
Judah, Grace’s father, steadfastly turns away from the anxious inquiries of Grace and her brother, Adam.
Adam is about to marry Priscilla, who has the reputation of being the biggest busybody in Lancaster county, and Grace doesn’t relish the thought of her getting involved in the family’s problems.
Heather is an English grad student, diagnosed with a terminal illness. In denial and telling no one she is terminally ill, Heather travels to Lancaster County—the last place she and her deceased mother had visited together. Will Heather find healing for her body…and her spirit?
As the lives of these four wounded souls become entwined, they each discover missing pieces of their life puzzles—and feel the loving hand of God.

This book was a little harder to get into than most of her books, but after a few chapters I was hooked. Am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I LIKE THE STYLE OF WRITTING ON THE AMISH THAT SHE DOES. I THOUGHT THIS BOOK WAS GOOD AND AM WAITING FOR THE NEXT ONE TO COME OUT. IT WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN SOME SHE HAS DONE IN PAST, BUT STILL FOUND IT VERY GOOD.
