Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope

Like Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy, President Barack Obama has inspired millions of people around the world with his powerful message of change. Now you can inspire your child with this beautiful portrayal of the life and career of the “skinny man with the funny name” who is our nation’s first African-American president!

Even when President Obama was just a kid, he knew that he wanted to help people to improve their lives. Award-winning author Nikki Grimes and Caldecott-winning illustrator Bryan Collier take us from Obama’s childhood, when everyone he knew called him Barry, all the way to the not so distant past where he challenged us all to work together as one to make America better. (Ages 4-6)

No way - garbage book
May 12, 2011

Reading the 'glowing' reviews about the hack-President, former leader of the corrupt Acorn Community activist group is repulsive indoctrination of children into specific ideology. I would never put this load of garbage into the hands of any child. President Barry Sotero is nothing but a lying, Marxist grifter-scam artist who has more myseterious secrets about his past than any other president ever elected from his non-voting senator record "present", to his multiple name changes, to his refusal to release his academic records...and on and on. The sooner this clown is gone, the better for the US.

As Christians we need more love.

President Barack Obama is a good man, who is being given a bad name by people who are ignorant. They never took the time to read about his life before he became a United states senator, or what he is about. What he did for the people in Chicago while he was there. Also what he hopes to achieve. he inherited a bad economy from our former president and is fighting years of corrupt thinking, and thinkers. Mr. Obama is trying to fix things, but he has to wade through all the gunk and mess that has been made in the former administration, he is not a magic being to wave a wand and fix things overnight. It took eight years to wreck things, it may take the same or more to fix it back. President Obama is an ambitious man, he looks ahead to what he hopes to achieve and is not trying to be pessimistic, he knows with time and patience those things can be achieve. Give him a break please.

It's actually "hoax" and change!

It's all smoke and mirrors! This President is nothing but a Marxist who is trying to ram down the throats of the American people a socialist agenda. Wake up!!!

Messiah like book cover!
January 14, 2010

This book cover makes it difficult to argue that Barack Obama is not seen as the "Messiah". One of my grandchildren saw this book and thought Obama must be Jesus. I asked her why she thought that he was Jesus; her reply was, "His arms are raised to heaven and the lights from heaven are shining behind him just like in our picture of Jesus". With my Bishop's help I hope to be able to explain to our youth at church that he is a mortal man, and he won't be performing any miracles. Heaven knows we could certainly use a couple, but I don't think they will be coming from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Stop the madness
January 12, 2010

This book is nothing but an early attempt to indoctrinate your child. Its as bad as the Sonya Sotomayor book, and Al Gores kids book. This is truly offensive that these books are being sold to our children...it just proves you are never to young to start the brainwashing.
