“The subject of spiritual gifts has always confused me. Occasionally, I’d turn to Romans 12:6-8 and draw a blank. Leadership? Doesn’t feel right. And definitely not a prophet. Discover Your Spiritual Gifts has given me a new and hopeful perspective. It reassures me that every believer receives gifts from the Holy Spirit when we are reborn. The enlightening questionnaire helped me discern between natural gifts, such as writing, and spiritual gifts I might have, while explanations of the gifts gave me specific areas to pray about. I was particularly encouraged by the section on ‘gift-mixing’—how we can have a combination of gifts to fulfill the purpose God has for us. This powerful book might help change your life. It already has begun to change mine.”—John, Crossings writer

I personnally felt the best part was the exam to discover your gifts. I think that was easy to use and to score. I wouldn't necessarily use the rest of the book for my personal needs or that of a group setting. But to find your gifts it is okay. J.M.

I reviewed this book several months ago and my review shows 5 Stars. That was not my intention - I did not mark any stars. This book deserves "no stars." This author advocates finding our spiritual gifts on our own -- no help needed from the Holy Spirit. He suggests trying out some of the gifts and imitating other people. He imitated Billy Graham but had no one come forward. This book is so bad I don't know why Crossings even offers it.
I contacted Crossings several months ago and asked them to take the 5-Star rating off of my review. Obviously, this didn't happen so I am submitting another review to warn people this book is not in agreement with the Bible.

This author suggests experimenting
with gifts and how he imitated Billy Graham--his accent, gestures, etc and even went to Bolivia--finding out he is not an evangelist. God does not lead in this way. He gave us the Holy Spirit to minister to us and guide us in the revelation and use of our spiritual gifts. We are unique, beloved individuals & God has a plan for each of us. Read Paul's teaching in Romans, I Cor. and Ephesians, then pray and trust the Holy Spirit to reveal your gifts to you and lead you in using your gifts.

I really was disappointed in the book...The author told of several gifts...the Bible only speaks of 9...really didn't care for book.

This book was quite slow, did not fully discuss spiritual gifts, and some of his definations of gifts are not biblcally correct.
