Publishing just ahead of the 150th anniversary of the opening shots of the Civil War, Lincoln in 3-D offers a breathtaking tour of Abraham Lincoln’s life and presidency. Exploiting the full potential of the Library of Congress’ 3-D negative collection, while also tapping into exclusive private collections for rare images, Civil War photography experts Bob Zeller and John J. Richter have unearthed 185 original stereoscopic photographs, rendering them as they were always meant to be seen—in breathtaking 3-D. Readers wearing the enclosed 3-D glasses will feel as if they have literally stepped into Lincoln’s life and times.
With a concise accompanying history, these photographs exhibit Lincoln’s presidency and its aftermath in lifelike detail, from the battlefields and barracks of the Civil War to the White House and Ford’s Theatre. More than a dozen photographs of Lincoln himself show the president in all his moods and postures—bemused, weathered and commanding—in scenes that range from the formal studio to the battlefield.
Featuring never-before-published images alongside the most iconic portraits of Lincoln ever taken, this volume offers a rare view of the life of the 16th president.

I gave an earlier review of only two stars saying how disappointed I was. Well, I made a mistake and I apologize! I hate to say it, but I had the glasses on inside out and when I realized this and turned them as it stated to wear them, I LOVE IT!!! Please, if you order this book make sure you have the right eye lens on the right eye and the left eye lens on the left eye. It makes all the difference in the world. Again, I'm sorry that I gave the bad review, it is a GREAT book!

I was really disappointed when I received this book. Maybe I'm just not used to wearing 3d glasses, but the images were almost not viewable. Many of them made it appear that I was seeing doubles. If I had to redo, I probably would not order this book. Maybe I just need to look at it a little better, but by quick scan, I wasn't happy with it.
