Fans of riveting fiction will love Ninie Hammon’s Five Days in May—her characters will stay with you forever.
The lives of four people collide in the shadow of a monster tornado: Rev. McIntosh has lost his wife and his faith and is preparing to forsake his calling. His 16-year-old daughter, Joy, is pregnant and desperate. Joy’s grandfather, Jonas, plans to give his wife, Maggie, an overdose of sleeping pills to release her from Alzheimer’s. Then everything changes when Mac meets Princess, a death-row inmate who “knows things” she can’t possibly know, and is determined to carry a secret about the little sister she murdered, to her grave.
None of them will confront life by the path they planned—or leave with the result they expected.

I read this book entirely in two sittings. However, I had a difficult time with the first of it. I could not get into the characters easily. My husband has tried to read it and has just not been able to find interest. I think once he gets past the difficult part, he would really enjoy. I would hope to reccomend this book to more of my friends and family.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful writing skills of this author. The book was intriguing from the first chapter to the last. Great descriptive story telling with a wonderful realistic ending. Completely worth the read. I will follow this authour and look forward to her next book. A wonderful christian book that I can easily loan to my non-christian friends.

I have not read a book from beginning to end since high school (and I'm 50 years old.) I read Five Days in May in 3 days! Riveting, edge-of-your-seat reading. Don't pass this one by!
