A Child's First Bible

“What is the Bible? The Bible is like a letter from God to you and me! It tells the story of God’s love for us.” So begins A Child’s First Bible.

Delightfully illustrated with the kind of bright, bold artwork kids love, Sally Lloyd-Jones’ lively retellings of favorite Bible stories, from Creation to Jesus’ Resurrection and everything in between, is a perfect introduction for young readers. Kid friendly language, interactive questions, special thoughts drawn from each story, activities and a Bible reference for readers who want to find out more about the story of God’s love will help spark family conversations and help little ones apply the lessons they’ve learned from the Bible to their everyday lives. Ages 2-6.

not very impressed

I liked the hard bound effect of the book, something that kids can't destroy very easily but not very impressed by the way the stories were told.

Child's First Bible
March 22, 2008

I bought this for a three year old, but feel it is geared to a child at least a year or two older. However, he loved the pictures and stories although I did not read them verbatim. My recommendation would be to use it for a child older than three. It really is a good book, but I felt it to be a bit beyond age three.

i bought it and i'm delighted with it. my girls LOVE IT. it is simple but straight to the point and the pictures gives the children a better illustration. i also like it because it is 100% bible based and you can see the bible scriptures at the bottom of each page. GOD Bless the author of this great book.

Pretty Good for Little Ones
June 26, 2007

I think this is a pretty good beginners Bible. Our daughter is almost 3 and likes it. However, it's a little over her head and doesn't keep her interest yet. She loves the pictures and remembers some of the story line.

Not very good
June 08, 2007

I bought this for my 3yr old daughter and it did not keep her interest. The stories are very short and have you asking questions at the end. It does not completly tell stories just the beginnings. I returned this book for a different bible one. Don't waste your money.
