Both believers and non-believers among your friends will enjoy the brilliant writing of this master storyteller. C.S. Lewis wrote highly entertaining and deeply illuminating books that explored the nature of good and evil, and this collection includes writings from three of his most imaginative and intelligent works. What Christians Believe: In these classic essays, which began as talks on the BBC during World War II, Lewis creatively and simply explains the basic tenets of Christianity. Taken from the core section of Mere Christianity, the selections provide an accessible way for more people to discover the timeless truths of our faith. Made for Heaven: A keen insight into our souls characterizes the writings of C.S. Lewis. From his Chronicles of Narnia to Mere Christianity, his writings continually return to the theme of heaven as our true home, the land we have been searching for our whole lives. This volume includes some of Lewis’s most beautiful and profound writing. Paved with Good Intentions: The demon Wormwood first became famous through his correspondence with his uncle Screwtape, published in The Screwtape Letters. We are now privileged to peruse his field notebook, complete with scribbles, notes and excerpts from his uncle’s letters. It’s a “best of Screwtape” that offers witty and cutting strategies for how best to corrupt a brand new Christian and steal him from God. If you’re looking for a very special gift for the special people in your life—this is it. —Andrea

C. S. Lewis, a close friend of J.R.R. Tolkien, was a Christian apologist, literary critic, academic, radio broadcaster and essayist known for his fiction, especially The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia and The Space Trilogy. Lewis had been baptized in the Church of Ireland at birth, but fell away from his faith during his adolescence. Owing to the influence of Tolkien and other friends, at about the age of 30, Lewis re-converted to Christianity, His conversion had a profound effect on his work, and his wartime radio broadcasts on the subject of Christianity, found in the perennial bestseller, Mere Christianity, brought him wide acclaim.
